Responsibilities
- Lead procurement activities for complex capital projects, including design/construction services, equipment packages and supporting project services.
- Develop sourcing and procurement strategies based on project requirements, schedule, cost, supplier capability and risk.
- Manage RFIs/RFPs/RFQs, bid evaluations, commercial negotiations, supplier selection and contract award.
- Partner closely with Engineering and Project Management teams throughout the capital project lifecycle.
- Negotiate commercial terms, Master Service Agreements, framework agreements and other supplier contracts.
- Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on technical capability, commercial competitiveness, quality and project requirements.
- Manage supplier performance, commercial issues, change management and project-related procurement risks.
- Perform spend analysis, market assessments, benchmarking and cost evaluations to identify savings and cost-avoidance opportunities.
- Support procurement planning from initial project requirements through equipment delivery, installation, startup and commissioning.
- Maintain clear reporting on sourcing activity, supplier status, project milestones, savings and procurement risks.
- Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external engineering, construction, equipment and service providers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or a related discipline.
- Approximately 8–10+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing or category management experience, with significant exposure to capital projects.
- Demonstrated experience procuring capital equipment, engineering services, construction-related services or complex technical packages.
- Experience supporting projects within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, food/beverage, advanced manufacturing or another regulated industrial environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of the capital project lifecycle and how procurement integrates with engineering, project management and construction activities.
- Experience managing RFx processes, commercial evaluations, supplier negotiations and contract development.
- Familiarity with MSAs, SLAs, framework agreements and project-specific commercial terms.
- Strong supplier management, stakeholder communication and negotiation skills.
- Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving, matrixed project environment.
- Ability to travel to project and supplier locations as required.
