Senior Calibration Engineer

Anduril Industries · Ashville, OH · 1 mo ago
Management$97k–$129k/yrFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role, Responsibilities (What You’ll Do), Requirements (Qualifications), maybe Skills? The posting includes About The Role, What You’ll Do, Required Qualifications, Preferred Qualifications, US Salary Range, Benefits. Also includes About The Site and company description but we should not repeat job title as heading. We need to include sections only when there is real specific content. We must not include filler like "commensurate with experience". Salary range is given: US Salary Range $97,000—$129,000 USD. Benefits: description of benefits. So we should include Pay and Benefits sections. We need to use

for section headings. Use
  • for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and

for prose. We must not repeat the job title as a heading. Also not put Job ID/requisition numbers as headings. We must remove boilerplate: cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning, duplicated lines, application instructions. The posting includes a large scam warning section and data privacy. Those must be removed. We need to preserve all substantive information. So we need to keep: About The Site description? It's about the site (Arsenal-1). Should we include that? The instructions: include a section only when posting has real, specific content for it. There's no predefined heading for "About the Site". The allowed headings list: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. So we should map content to those headings. "About The Site" could go under About the role? Probably not. Might be considered part of About the role? But the role description includes "About The Role". The site description is separate but not a required heading. We could omit it because there's no appropriate heading. However we must preserve ALL substantive information; we cannot drop it unless we can incorporate into allowed sections. Could we put it under About the role as a paragraph? The About the role section already has description of role. The site description is about the facility location. Could be considered part of About the role context. I'd include it as a paragraph under About the role heading. Similarly, the initial company description (Anduril Industries is a defense technology company ...) could be considered part of About the role? Might be considered background. Could also be omitted? But we must preserve all substantive information. We could include it as a paragraph under About the role heading before the role specifics. Thus structure:

    About the role

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company ... (company mission). About The Site Anduril, a leader ... Arsenal-1 ... (site description). About The Role We are looking for a Senior Calibration Engineer ... (role description).

    Then Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities

    with
    • each bullet from "What You’ll Do". Need to capture each bullet line. Then Requirements: maybe combine Required Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications? The instructions: Use headings for Requirements, Qualifications, Skills. We have both Required and Preferred Qualifications. Could put Required Qualifications under

      Requirements

      and Preferred Qualifications under

      Qualifications

or Skills. But we have also Skills maybe not explicit. Could treat Required Qualifications as Requirements, Preferred Qualifications as Qualifications. Or combine both under Requirements. But better to follow headings: Requirements (required), Qualifications (preferred). Skills maybe not present. Thus:

      Requirements

      • Associates degree in Science / Engineering or similar technical field.
      • Experience managing calibration at a large organization and production environment
      • Experience working with and managing 3rd party calibration vendors
      • Experience with automated calibration tools and software.
      • Experience improving processes and procedures (specifically around calibration) with an emphasis on process creation.
      • Familiar with common industry calibration standards and methods
      • Proven track record of designing and delivering calibration systems for manufacturing facilities.
      • In-depth knowledge of AS9100 and AS6500 standards and their application in calibration processes.
      • Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills across multiple sites.
      • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
      • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
      • U.S. citizenship is required pursuant to contractual obligations.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
      • Experience working in a metrology department
      • Experience with developing In-house calibration process
      • Experience creating/establishing a metrology department where one previously did not exist.
      • Experience with precise measurement tools, such as caliper, micrometer, pin gage, height gage, dial indicator, Pi tape, Deltronic pins, bore gage, optical comparator-angle/distance, fillet gage, radius gage set, surface finish chart, thread gage 2A/2B, profilometer, groove micrometer.
      • Experience with preparing for external audits.
      • Experience with inspection processes and procedures.
      Pay:

      Pay

      US Salary Range $97,000—$129,000 USD

      Benefits:

      Benefits

Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package. Additionally, Anduril offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees, including: At Anduril, we invest in our people. Our comprehensive, competitive benefits package (available at little to no cost to employees) ensures you’re supported in health, recovery, and whatever comes next. For more information, Explore Our Benefits.

We need to ensure we don't include filler like "commensurate with experience". Not present. We must not include application instructions, scam warning, data privacy, etc. Check for duplicated lines: The posting includes "The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations." That's more detail about salary. Should we include that? It's substantive. The Pay section could include that sentence as well. The instruction: include Pay section only if posting actually states them. It does state salary range and also note about estimate. So we should include that detail. So Pay section could have

US Salary Range $97,000—$129,000 USD. The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.

Similarly Benefits: The posting includes "Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package. Additionally, Anduril offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees, including: At Anduril, we invest in our people. Our comprehensive, competitive benefits package (available at little to no cost to employees) ensures you’re supported in health, recovery, and whatever comes next. For more information, Explore Our Benefits." That's what we used. Now Responsibilities: Need to extract each bullet from "What You’ll Do". Let's list them: - Analyze & drive improvements in the core calibration activities for calibrated devices. - Define new project milestones, develop detailed execution plans, and monitor progress to meet deadlines and quality standards for enhancements to the quality management system. - Develop In-House Calibration Roadmap: Create and implement a strategic plan to analyze the calibration processes and optimize for work done with external vendors or in-house capabilities. - Evaluate and implement new technologies and methods to improve calibration efficiency and effectiveness. - Manage the database and ensure that it is updated when appropriate, including but not limited to updating location and owners of tools. - Improve processes to ensuring that equipment rotations do not starve users or production. - Improve the existing infrastructure for equipment flagged for calibration (i.e. Drop location for assets requiring calibration, standardization of calibration intake information, providing instructions for 3rd party vendor) - Support the creation, upkeep and communication of calibration procedures, documented information and communication there of. - Manage training of internal calibration stakeholders. - Conduct spot audits as needed for compliance to calibration procedures. - Ensure that there are consistencies and completeness in calibration plans, training material, and performance management metrics. - Support global site readiness reviews for internal and external auditing. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, which requires regular interaction with production and manufacturing stakeholders and frequently working directly on the production floor. We need to put each as
    • . Ensure we keep the exact wording. Now About the role paragraph: Should we include the initial company description and site description? Let's craft a concise paragraph that includes all that info without losing substance. Company description: "Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years." Site description: "About The Site Anduril, a leader in autonomous systems and weapons manufacturing, is building Arsenal-1, its first hyperscale manufacturing facility, just south of Columbus, Ohio in Pickaway County. Arsenal-1 is redefining the scale and speed that autonomous systems and weapons can be produced for the United States and its allies and partners. This is a monumental and essential step toward rebuilding America’s defense industrial base, strengthening America’s warfighting capabilities, and enhancing deterrence amid rising international threats." Role description: "About The Role We are looking for a Senior Calibration Engineer to drive improvements to our internal calibration program in Ashville, OH. This role will be on the Quality Engineering team and partner across the product development organization, production organization, and field operations organizations. This role will be dynamic and full of new engagement, challenges, and opportunities to bring the core elements of success for a calibration program - measuring the process, managing tracking software, schedules, accuracy & precision of equipment, equipment history, traceability methods, accreditation and reporting. If you are someone who has passion for the quality of their work, is hands-on with engineering, production, and vendors, and be accountable for calibration results, then this role is for you." We can combine into a paragraph or multiple paragraphs. The instruction: use

      for prose. Could have multiple

under the heading. That's fine. Thus:
