About the role
The Senior CAD Operator is responsible for preparing and maintaining high-quality engineering drawings for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This position works closely with engineers, project managers, and designers to develop construction plans for treatment plants, lift stations, pump stations, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, and related infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain high-quality engineering drawings for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and designers to develop construction plans for treatment plants, lift stations, pump stations, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, and related infrastructure.
- Develop site plans from concept through construction.
- Finish modification of drawings based on input from Project Manager.
- Assist in meetings and public presentations.
- Prepare graphics for presentations.
- Research and review of local water development regulations for standards.
- Design plans to include knowledge of water conveyance and retention.
- Works under the direction of a Project Manager on the Waste Water Development Team and will present design information to senior management and other team members.
- Works with consultants during design phases from concept through construction.
- Works in a team environment to establish and maintain common schedule goals.
Requirements
- 10+ years of AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience.
- 5-7 years experience of water and wastewater facilities.
- Proven experience Supervising and coaching junior CAD Staff.
- Demonstrates reliable understanding of the relationship between design and constructability.
- Proficiency using computer software programs including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to write reports, business correspondence and presentations.
Qualifications
- Currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
Skills
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of water and wastewater facilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Mentoring junior CAD staff.
