Senior Buyer, Operations
Job Description
The Senior Buyer is responsible for the procurement and supplier management of direct materials and components supporting medical device manufacturing operations. This role ensures continuity of supply to production through effective planning, supplier collaboration, and proactive resolution of supply chain disruptions. Responsibilities include managing supplier performance, negotiating pricing and delivery terms, supporting cost reduction initiatives, and maintaining inventory targets while minimizing excess and obsolete material. The position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in ERP systems such as Oracle Cloud and Oracle EBS, and the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams to support operational and business objectives.

Job Qualifications
- Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years equivalent related work experience in medical device manufacturing, purchasing, planning or supply chain. Certification (APICS/ IBF) desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, planning, or manufacturing within the medical device, pharmaceutical, or regulated consumer products industries.
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle Cloud, Oracle EBS, and Advanced Planning Systems to manage procurement activities, planning parameters, inventory analysis, and supplier performance.
- Proven experience managing direct material suppliers, including supplier performance management, capacity planning, delivery recovery, and resolution of supply chain disruptions.
- Experience leading supplier negotiations involving pricing, lead times, service levels, cost reduction initiatives, and contractual commitments.
- Experience working within FDA, EMA, ISO, GMP, or other regulated manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of quality systems, compliance requirements, and patient safety expectations.
- Strong ability to build and sustain collaborative partnerships across cross-functional teams including Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Accounting and Category Management, ensuring alignment and execution across competing priorities.
- Demonstrated capability to influence stakeholders in a matrixed environment, driving consensus and effective decision-making without direct authority.
- Proactive mindset with a strong focus on challenging the status quo, identifying inefficiencies, and driving process improvements that enhance speed, quality, and overall supply chain performance.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences and effectively present insights, risks, and recommendations to both operational teams and leadership.
- End-to-end supply chain understanding with the ability to connect procurement decisions to broader operational, financial, and customer impact.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and structured decision-making in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including Microsoft Excel, BI and standard Microsoft Office applications, to support procurement analysis and business reporting.
- Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with a strong sense of urgency and accountability for delivery outcomes.
