Senior Buyer (Foodservice Distribution)

What You'll Do

• Manage purchasing activities for foodservice and commodity products
• Develop and maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, rebates, and purchasing agreements
• Monitor inventory levels and support demand planning initiatives
• Analyze market conditions, pricing trends, and supply chain impacts
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Transportation, and Finance teams to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards
• Review purchasing performance, inventory reports, and forecasting data
• Support and mentor junior purchasing team members
• Contribute to continuous process improvements and purchasing strategy

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or commodity buying experience within foodservice, food distribution, wholesale food, grocery, protein, produce, frozen foods, or related industries
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, forecasting, and supply chain operations
• Experience negotiating vendor agreements and managing supplier relationships
• Ability to analyze market trends, commodity pricing, and purchasing opportunities
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/inventory management systems
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, or related field preferred
