The organization emphasizes structured procurement practices, supplier performance, and risk management to ensure quality, reliability, and schedule adherence.About the OpportunityThe Senior Buyer manages complex procurement activities, including negotiating prices, contract terms, and supplier agreements to meet organizational and client requirements. This role supports efficient sourcing, regulatory compliance, supplier relationship management, and contract administration. The position also contributes to procurement process improvements, audit readiness, and the development of other buyers.Responsibilities• Develop and negotiate pricing, contract terms, and conditions for complex procurements under appropriate supervision.• Administer purchase orders, maintain procurement files, and manage supplier relationships.• Prepare solicitations, support proposal activities, and conduct price and cost analyses.• Negotiate price, cost, and subcontract provisions with suppliers.• Analyze supplier operations and cost structures to support sourcing and supplier selection decisions.• Recommend improvements to procurement processes, procedures, and controls.• Apply advanced knowledge of procurement, sourcing, negotiation, and regulatory compliance.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement procurement policies and procedures.• Support and review the work of other buyers and provide guidance to the procurement team.• Ensure compliance with prime contract flowdown requirements to minimize organizational liability.• Support audits and respond to procurement-related data and documentation requests.• Participate in peer reviews and mentor other buyers.• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and ensure timely completion of purchasing activities.• Monitor supplier performance and address procurement issues affecting cost, quality, or schedule.Requirements• Bachelor’s degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 6–10 years of relevant experience.• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Strong customer service and stakeholder management orientation.• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).• Knowledge of government contracting requirements preferred.• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.• Experience with Costpoint preferred.• Experience negotiating procurement terms and conditions preferred.• Knowledge of build-to-print requirements, fabricated parts, and components preferred.• Working knowledge of FAR and agency supplements such as DFARS preferred.Pay Range and Compensation Package• Pay range: $82,550–$149,225 per year.• Compensation offers consider job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable agreements, and applicable laws.
