Senior Buyer
Robert Half is partnering with a respected client in the North Shore area to find a Senior Buyer for a permanent role.
About the role
The Senior Buyer is responsible for quoting, negotiating pricing, and purchasing inventory and materials to support the company's needs. This role involves executing and managing Purchase Orders for the procurement of major/critical commodities, services, and complex procurements, with a focus on improving supplier quality and lowering total cost of ownership.
The selected candidate must have in-depth knowledge and understanding of Government contractor purchasing requirements, including how to apply them while working with DFAR/FAR and mentoring junior Buyers on SBA compliance.
Responsibilities
- Quote, negotiate pricing, and purchase inventory and materials.
- Execute and manage Purchase Orders for major/critical commodities, services, and complex procurements.
- Improve supplier quality and lower total cost of ownership.
- Apply Government contractor purchasing requirements, including DFAR/FAR compliance.
- Mentor junior Buyers on Government contractor purchasing requirements and SBA compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or APICS equivalent experience (required).
- Master’s degree (a plus).
- Minimum of 6–8 years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of assigned commodities and advanced decision-making skills.
- Experience with Government contractor purchasing requirements, DFAR/FAR, and SBA compliance.
Pay
Base salary up to $110,000.
