About the role

Execute purchasing activities for critical engineered equipment and major bulk materials in accordance with project requirements and material management plans.
Prepare bid packages, manage bidder communications and clarification meetings and administer quotation timelines.
Conduct commercial bid evaluations evaluating pricing, terms, delivery, compliance and risk against project baseline documents.
Issue purchase orders and manage them through the full lifecycle, including change orders, price adjustments and supplier exceptions.
Negotiate and recommend resolution to terms and conditions exceptions.
Negotiate and provide recommendations for final resolution to any claim related items regarding material.
Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.
Validate supplier invoices and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Construction, Logistics, and other project stakeholders.
Plan and organize own work assignments, as well as carry out tasks from management staff.
Organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines

  • Work toward applicable professional certification(s) or license(s)
  • Experience primarily in the area of material management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent computer literacy and skills
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English (read, write, and speak)

Market Rate

The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.

Salary Range

$92,000.00 - $171,000.00
