Senior Buyer

About the role

The Senior Buyer will coordinate global procurement of raw materials for specific product lines to meet master schedule and customer order requirements. They will strategically purchase raw materials to optimize inventory management and support production planning.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate global procurement of raw materials to meet master schedule and customer order requirements
• Strategically purchase raw materials to optimize inventory management and support production planning
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate terms
• Support production planning and ensure material availability
• Optimize inventory levels and reduce costs through strategic purchasing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 5+ years of relevant procurement/buying experience
• Proficiency in SAP or a related ERP/MRP system; strong knowledge of BOM and planning
• Experience with lean principles, supply chain management, and ordering policy development
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-functionally with suppliers, AP, and internal stakeholders
• Sound judgment, time management, and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, Teams, and Outlook
• Light lifting up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical device manufacturing or supply base experience
• APICS or other relevant industry certification

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $36.00 – $40.00 per hour, depending on geographic location, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
