Senior Buyer
Daisy Brand is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Senior Buyer to lead sourcing initiatives across direct and indirect spend categories for a dairy manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, Operations, and other stakeholders to optimize supplier performance, support innovation, and deliver long-term value.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for direct and indirect procurement categories, including packaging, ingredients, professional services, maintenance services, and procurement enablement platforms.
- Analyze category spend, market trends, supplier capabilities, and business requirements to identify sourcing opportunities and mitigate supply risks.
- Create and implement category management plans that support Daisy Brand's growth, quality, service, and cost objectives.
- Manage indirect spend categories, including services and supplies that support dairy manufacturing operations, ensuring sourcing strategies align with business requirements and organizational priorities.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate business needs and select suppliers that deliver optimal service, quality, and value.
- Oversee procurement platform sourcing activities, including supplier performance monitoring and contract management.
- Lead Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI), and Requests for Quotation (RFQ) processes from development through supplier award.
- Define project scope, evaluation criteria, and supplier requirements to ensure effective sourcing outcomes.
- Manage supplier transition plans, ensuring seamless implementation and minimal operational disruption when transitioning from incumbent suppliers.
- Establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships focused on continuous improvement, innovation, service excellence, and cost competitiveness.
- Manage supplier scorecards and performance metrics to measure quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost performance.
- Identify and mitigate supplier risks to ensure continuity of supply.
- Negotiate pricing structures, service agreements, rebate programs, and tiered pricing models to achieve favorable commercial outcomes.
- Utilize ERP and MRP systems to align purchasing strategies with production schedules, demand forecasts, and inventory targets.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams to prevent shortages, excess inventory, and obsolescence for sourced materials and services.
- Analyze spend data and purchasing trends to identify savings opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Lead productivity, financially prudent, and value-engineering initiatives.
- Monitor category budgets and support financial planning efforts through accurate market intelligence and forecasting.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, Marketing, R&D, and Operations teams to support business initiatives and continuous improvement efforts in a dairy manufacturing environment.
- Ensure procurement readiness for business growth, operational changes, and strategic projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
- 3+ years of experience developing and executing sourcing strategies for both direct/indirect spend categories, negotiating supplier contracts, and managing supplier transitions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and PowerBI experience.
- Experience working within food production, dairy manufacturing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related industries preferred.
