Senior Buyer

Key Responsibilities

• Manage RFQ and PO processes
• Identify new suppliers and negotiate prices
• Participate in S&OP process including demand and material planning for assigned product portfolios/vendors
• Analyze material inventory and accountable for maintaining sufficient safety stock and inventory projection for the materials
• Balance material demand/supply to minimize stockout risk by analyzing current inventory, forecasting needs, and scheduling supplier’s shipments
• Create Purchase Orders in ERP system, maintain accurate open PO lines to define inbound quantities and due dates from suppliers, track in transit shipments, and expedite deliveries as needed
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, and effectively manage quality service / product performance issues with suppliers
• Communicate material quality and delivery change requirements to suppliers in an MRP environment
• Purchase materials and services, obtaining maximum value in terms of price, quality, and delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, with 5 years of relevant experience, or Associate’s degree, with 10 years of relevant experience
• Certifications from Industry associations is a plus (C.P.M.)
• Experience in high-tech manufacturing/production environment a plus
• Understanding and hands-on experience with manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems such as SAGE or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills; demonstrated proficiency working with large data sets
