Senior Buyer

About the role

At Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, one of Danaher’s 15+ operating companies, our work saves lives. This role is responsible for the Value Stream, including preparing and processing requisitions and placing purchase orders for the procurement of commodities and supplies necessary for the manufacturing of our products.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process requisitions and place purchase orders for the procurement of commodities and supplies necessary for the manufacturing of our products.
• Align with the Production Planner to ensure materials are readily available to support the production plan.
• Negotiate favorable pricing with vendors/suppliers.
• Establish contract terms with suppliers and drive ongoing supplier optimization to ensure that organizational metrics are achieved.
• Manage the supply base, including negotiating, supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD), and forecasting.
• Identify and facilitate continuous improvement activities.
• Collaborate with and support production planning and Value Stream to ensure timely delivery to our customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5+ years of general business experience or Master's degree with 3+ years general business experience or Doctoral degree with 0+ years of experience.
• Strong organizational, communication, and detailed operational process skills to keep all parties informed of attainment or missing metric targets.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, such as high volume of suppliers (100+) and parts (average of 700 active parts), and escalating issues as needed.
• Proficient with any ERP, Excel, and agile in learning new software.
• Experience in manufacturing, buying or planning for instrument/accessory products is a plus.

Qualifications

• APICS CPIM, CSCP, or CPM Certification is a plus.

• Strong organizational, communication, and detailed operational process skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, such as high volume of suppliers and parts.
• Proficiency in ERP, Excel, and agile learning.
• Experience in manufacturing, buying, or planning for instrument/accessory products.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on qualifications and location.

This is an on-site role located in Indianapolis.
