Senior Buyer
About the role
A leading manufacturing organization in the East Canton area is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to support strategic sourcing, supplier management, inventory planning, and procurement operations. This position serves as a key partner to the Materials Manager and works closely with production, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services.
Responsibilities
- Buys materials and services in accordance with approved budgets and specifications.
- Negotiates supplier agreements to drive cost savings and improve inventory performance.
- Supports operational excellence by ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
- Works closely with production, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Manages vendor relationships to maintain high-quality standards and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Develops and maintains accurate and up-to-date inventory records and manages stock levels to optimize efficiency.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to procurement and supply chain management.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings strong procurement experience within a manufacturing environment and has a proven ability to negotiate supplier agreements, drive cost savings, improve inventory performance, and support operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Expert-level experience in procurement, supply chain, and related fields.
- Proven track record of successful negotiation and cost-saving initiatives.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems and their integration into procurement processes.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and developing vendor partnerships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in procurement and supply chain management.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65,000.00 - $85,000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
