What We Will Expect From You

VERBIO North America is seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Systems Analyst to drive business intelligence, reporting, process improvement, and automation initiatives across the organization. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, partnering closely with Finance, Commercial, Operations, and IT to identify opportunities, solve business challenges, and deliver data-driven solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of business intelligence, data governance, reporting, and process automation within a growing organization. The successful candidate will leverage modern analytics and automation tools to improve visibility into business performance, optimize processes, and support strategic decision-making. Reporting to the IT Manager, this role will have significant influence in developing scalable reporting solutions, integrating business systems, and establishing best practices for analytics and data management.

Essential Functions Of The Job

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges, reporting requirements, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions to gather and document business requirements.
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency improvements.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions that deliver measurable business value.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions using Power BI and related technologies.
  • Create reporting solutions that support financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, pricing analysis, commercial trading activities, operational metrics, and executive decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain data models that provide reliable, scalable, and actionable insights.
  • Establish reporting standards and best practices to improve data consistency and user adoption.
  • Design and support integrations between ERP systems and other business applications.
  • Utilize Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Automate, to automate business processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Develop scripts, queries, and APIs to support data extraction, transformation, and reporting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal IT resources and external vendors to implement system enhancements and integrations.
  • Help establish and maintain data governance standards, documentation, and reporting methodologies.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across business systems and reporting platforms.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, process maps, workflows, and data dictionaries.
  • Support initiatives focused on creating trusted sources of business information.
  • Provide support and training to users of reporting, analytics, and automation solutions.
  • Promote user adoption through effective communication, documentation, and ongoing engagement with stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on reporting, analytics, and process optimization opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in business systems analysis, business intelligence, analytics, process improvement, or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in designing and developing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Microsoft Power BI.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases to support reporting and data analysis.
  • Experience designing and implementing automations, system integrations, and workflow solutions to improve business processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, Azure Data Services, or modern data platforms.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP/Great Plains knowledge is a plus).
  • Hands-on expertise with Python, Power Automate, APIs, JavaScript, or other automation and integration technologies.
  • Background in data modeling, data warehousing, or enterprise reporting environments.
  • Exposure to Finance, Accounting, Commodity Trading, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Energy, Agricultural, or Industrial business functions.
  • Knowledge of project management, process mapping, and change management methodologies.

Physical And Work Environment Requirements

This position is primarily sedentary and performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time and occasionally stand or walk. Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively through speaking and hearing. Visual acuity required for reading, computer work, and reviewing documents. Occasionally required to lift or move office materials weighing up to 15–20 pounds.

About Us

The VERBIO Nevada Biorefinery, located in Nevada, Iowa (USA), is the first industrial-scale renewable natural gas (RNG) facility in North America using agricultural residues as its feedstock. The plant is 100% owned by VERBIO North America Holdings Corporation. RNG production of 7 million ethanol gallons equivalent (EGE) per year. The site began operating as a biorefinery, producing 60 million gallons of corn-based ethanol and an additional 19 million gallons of RNG from stillage. The integration of RNG and ethanol production, unique to VERBIO, incorporates advanced operational technology currently practiced at the company's facilities in Germany. The process also yields humus, a soil amendment, and organic fertilizers. South Bend Ethanol, LLC, is the most recent plant acquisition. As a global leader in the renewable energy industry, this will be Verbio's second US production facility following the successful commissioning of its Nevada, IA plant. The site will be developed over the next three years incorporating Verbio's advanced engineering and operating technology practices. Verbio intends to expand and develop the plant into a modern biorefinery at an estimated total investment of $230 million.
