About the role

The Senior Business Manager manages advanced business responsibilities for the Department of Pediatrics, including budget development and strategic fiscal planning. They execute business operations such as contract management, financial reporting, data analysis, and providing business insights.

Responsibilities

  • Provides specialized analysis, input, review, and reporting on contracts, particularly the Physician Service Agreement.
  • Updates and investigates deviations from the budget in the Physician Service Agreement (PSA).
  • Aids in monthly and quarterly reconciliations, manages approved modifications to the PSA, and recommends and implements changes.
  • Prepares and analyzes annual performance/incentive plans and prepares monthly summary reports for all sections, including productivity reporting.
  • Develops and monitors an anticipated annual budget, ensuring appropriate account utilization.
  • Pairs with the Senior Research Specialist for post-award financial analysis, grant purchasing, and post-award monitoring.
  • Maintains oversight of pediatric funds, identifies financial issues, and provides corrective recommendations.
  • Submits monthly variable compensation to payroll, oversees all pediatric contracts, including funds and no-funds agreements, and submits required information for contract renewals.
  • Ensures compliance with all contracts and covers, monitors payments, and handles invoices and purchase orders.
  • Assists with event planning and collaborates with the Director of Administrative Operations and Fiscal Affairs on departmental inquiries related to data, financials, and business operations.
  • Supports the development and implementation of departmental operational procedures, trains, and implements change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, business administration, management, or a closely related field.
  • OR Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience in accounting, business administration, fiscal management, or closely related experience.
  • OR A combination of such education and/or work experience totaling three (3) years (36 months), as measured by the conversion table or its proportional equivalent.
  • Grant financial oversight experience preferred.
  • Healthcare financial/productivity reporting experience preferred.

Qualifications

Schedule

Days, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
