Senior Business Development Professional
This is a remote role with a requirement to travel at least 25%.
About the role
The Senior Business Development Professional will spearhead growth within the Federal, DoD, and commercial sectors, strategically targeting agencies such as the United States Army, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Navy, Air Force, Department of Justice, Department of Energy, United States Space Command, and Customs and Border Patrol in the Department of Homeland Security.
This role is instrumental in identifying, qualifying, and closing new business opportunities while providing strategic insights into sales, capture, and leadership to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions that deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with corporate growth goals.
- Shape and influence requirements early in the acquisition cycle to align with OSC Edge’s capabilities.
- Manage the full business development lifecycle: opportunity identification, capture strategy, proposal support, and contract transition.
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships with DoD and government decision-makers, industry partners, and integrators.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and leadership teams to ensure customer success.
- Deliver weekly updates and progress reports as required.
- Contribute to the evolution of business development processes, including CRM, formal capture, and proposal workflows.
- Develop, forecast, and capture new opportunities while maintaining relationships with new and existing customers.
- Identify strategic inflection points in the marketplace for core and non-traditional business initiatives.
- Develop and present compelling strategic and business growth opportunities, including market and competitive analysis.
- Monitor key government portals, notices, and postings daily to identify strategic and tactical fit opportunities for Go/No-Go consideration.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- 10+ years of experience in the Federal IT industry.
- Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.
- Prior experience and relationships in the Federal IT industry, with the ability to translate OSC’s capabilities into growth opportunities.
- Experience providing capture planning and execution support for operational and strategic opportunities.
- Strong relationships in target accounts and experience working across tactical, operational, and strategic opportunities.
- Proven ability and demonstrated success in capturing small and large-scale DoD contracts, preferably in information technology.
- Strong knowledge of POM processes and contracting vehicles (e.g., IDIQ).
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess market conditions, competition, and customer needs.
- Ability to develop business cases and shape opportunities for future growth.
- Prior relationship-building experience with federal acquisition offices and collaboration with subcontractor and prime Federal Contractors.

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- Active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one, depending on the nature of the work.
