About the role

The Amentum is seeking a Senior Business Development professional to accelerate growth within a classified Northern Virginia customer account. This role is focused on customer intimacy, opportunity identification, pipeline development, and qualifying large strategic opportunities.

Responsibilities

- Build and maintain trusted customer relationships. - Identify, develop, and qualify a pipeline of opportunities within the customer community. - Develop customer engagement strategies to understand requirements, plans, and goals. - Shape customer requirements and opportunities before RFP release. - Work with Capture Managers and other pursuit leaders to inform bid strategies, teaming, and competitive analysis. - Support the development of customer account strategies and responses to RFIs and Market Surveys. - Participate in strategic planning to mature strategies for future market trends. - Participate in trade shows and industry events to support opportunity development.

Requirements

- Minimum of three years of business development experience involving customer engagement, pipeline development, and qualification of strategic opportunities over $200M. - Business Development experience supporting Intelligence Community customers. - Existing customer relationships and networking within a classified IC customer. - Experience shaping requirements and influencing opportunities pre-RFP. - Understanding of customer mission priorities, objectives, strengths, and weaknesses. - Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). - Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 10 years of experience without a degree. - Former government civilian or military experience supporting the target customer. - Previous experience working directly within the customer organization. - Experience supporting intelligence analysis, enterprise IT, cyber security, OT security, infrastructure, or DevSecOps programs. - Experience supporting RFIs, Market Surveys, and EOI documents. - Strategic growth planning experience.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 10 years of experience without a degree. - Former government civilian or military experience supporting the target customer. - Previous experience working directly within the customer organization.
