The Role

The Senior Business Development Executive is primarily responsible for driving new business revenue and hitting sales goals around season, group, premium ticket, donation, and hospitality packages for University of Miami Athletics.

This person should be a self-motivated and positive professional with the ability to identify new prospective donors, ticket buyers, businesses, and community partners.

This position is responsible for engaging, servicing and soliciting existing donors and ticket holders, while also developing new relationships that create long-term revenue opportunities.

This position will be focused on building relationships, servicing all Hurricanes supporters, driving revenue, and being a positive steward and representative of Legends and the University of Miami.

Essential Functions

  • Offer a full menu of seating opportunities for Miami Hurricanes Football, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, and Baseball.
  • Cook up and execute sales calls to potential customers through prospecting, cold calling, referrals from current customers, database leads, and partner organizations.
  • Identify new prospects and provide excellent customer service, driving revenue through the sales of ticket and donation offerings.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent pipeline of new business opportunities through outbound sales activity, appointments, referrals, networking, and creative lead generation.
  • Effectively use Salesforce CRM to accurately record all client and prospect interactions.
  • Participate and contribute in weekly sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Work in conjunction with University of Miami Athletic Department team members to promote and generate sales to all ticketed events while providing a great fan experience.
  • Aid with any administrative ticket functions.
  • Aid with any special projects or duties as assigned by Director, Ticket Sales.
  • Entertain and nurture relationships with current donors and prospects through creative means including but not limited to networking events, speaking engagements, prospect sampling at games, seat visits at games, open houses at the stadium/arena, and outside meetings.
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours, weekends, events, and game days.
  • The candidate will be accountable for certain levels of activity (calls made/appointments set), pipeline development, revenue, and goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • 2-3+ years of sales experience is preferred.
  • Experience selling 5 and 6 figure ticketing and donations deals is preferred.
  • Proven ability to generate new business, drive additional purchases, and upsell from existing donors and ticket holders is preferred.
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a professional image and positive attitude.
  • Serve as a main point of contact for new business and general athletic ticket inquiries that come in through inbound phone calls, email, and social media.
  • Set and conduct in-stadium, arena and out-of-the-office sales appointments.
  • Effectively use Salesforce CRM to maintain accurate records of all client and prospect interactions.
  • Reach and exceed individual and team sales revenue goals.
  • Aid with managing and stewarding existing season ticket members and donors, when appropriate.
  • Prospect and cultivate new sales leads through creative lead generation methods, as well as follow up on leads provided by partner organizations.
  • Ability to handle a heavy volume of outbound and inbound phone calls and emails.
  • Candidate should possess excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Candidate should possess an optimistic team-first attitude, as well as a competitive desire to be the best.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and effectively influence and communicate with C-level clients.

Compensation

Competitive package (paid hourly + overtime + commission) commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
