About the role

The Financial Industry Group (FIG) Senior Business Development (BD) Coordinator will support and implement business development tactics for Financial Industry Group (FIG) in the Financial Industry Group (FIG) Business Development Team. This role is primarily based in the United States but involves global coordination with peers.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Interact with group leaders and other key attorneys on firmwide BD activities
  • Develop strong working relationships and maintain a high level of day-to-day interaction with lawyers
  • Aid in the development of agendas and presentations for practice group strategy meetings
  • Coordinate pitch materials, presentations, and responses to Requests for Proposals
  • Seek feedback from partners following pitches and track resulting actions
  • Collate content for internal newsletters and marketing campaigns
  • Draft and edit marketing collateral, including practice area descriptions and attorney biographies
  • Support strategy for brand positioning efforts, including managing conference sponsorships, client presentations, seminars, and webinars
  • Travel for trainings and meetings as required

Requirements

  • Education: College degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field required
  • Experience: 4-7 years' experience in a marketing-related field required, including at least one year of business development experience and demonstrated project leadership
  • Law firm or professional services experience preferred
  • Previous marketing, public relations, events, or media experience a plus
  • An interest in and ability to understand the legal business environment, including industry terminology
  • An interest in or experience of the financial institutions sector is highly desirable
  • Must have demonstrated experience working independently as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment

Skills

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Technologically savvy and able to quickly learn new database systems
  • Extremely detail-oriented, proactive, and well-organized, with the ability to manage and appropriately prioritize multiple projects and competing priorities under tight deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate sound professional judgment and a high degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts
  • Comfortable establishing effective firmwide working relationships with individuals at all levels
  • Possess, and be willing to continue to develop, strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative team player who takes initiative and is flexible in approach
  • Able to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis and complete assignments within set timelines
  • Able to exercise good judgment and discretion, and to adapt to changing work situations, with the support of senior team members

Additional Information

Supervisory responsibilities: None

Equipment used: Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, copier, scanner, etc.

Essential Job Functions

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring prolonged and/or extensive computer use
  • Ability to use computers, telecommunications, and digital collaboration tools to perform core job responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Flexibility to adjust working hours, including early start times occasionally, to support collaboration with international stakeholders in EMEA

Working Conditions

You will be required to work in the office at minimum 4 days per week. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. The details of your weekly schedule will be discussed further with your direct supervisor.

Pay Ranges

This represents the presently anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith's pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.
