Senior Business Data Analyst
About the role
CGI is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Business Data Analyst to support financial risk and capital markets initiatives within a large scale enterprise environment. This role focuses on data analysis, business process support, and regulatory reporting initiatives tied to derivatives, hedge accounting, and capital rule frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and leadership to analyze complex datasets, support strategic decision-making, and ensure alignment with financial and regulatory requirements.
- Strong hands-on SQL experience, including complex queries, data validation, and performance optimization.
- Prioritize experience working within large mortgage or financial services organizations.
- Experience analyzing large datasets within cloud-based environments, preferably AWS.
- Translate business requirements into actionable data insights and reporting solutions.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting, financial controls, and risk management processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or financial systems support within financial services environments.
- Strong hands-on SQL experience, including complex queries, data validation, and performance optimization.
- Solid background in financial services, preferably within mortgage or capital markets environments.
- Prior experience supporting enterprise-level financial institutions or government-sponsored enterprises.
- Understanding of derivatives, hedge accounting, Basel frameworks, and ERCF/capital rule concepts.
- Ability to operate in AWS-heavy data environments and collaborate across hybrid teams while maintaining strong communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Local availability for hybrid onsite collaboration preferred.
