Senior Business Central Developer / Technical Lead

Position Summary VetaTek is seeking an experienced Senior Business Central Developer / Technical Lead to serve as a key technical leader within our Dynamics 365 Business Central practice. This individual will partner closely with functional consultants, mentor developers, guide solution architecture, and lead the design and delivery of Business Central extensions and integrations. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership and requires deep expertise in AL development, Business Central architecture, integration design, and software engineering best practices. Solution Design and Architecture Partner with Business Central functional consultants to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutionsCreate technical designs and architecture documentation for client review and development executionLead architecture discussions for Business Central customizations, extensions, and integrationsEvaluate technical approaches and proactively identify scalability, maintainability, and performance concerns Development and Technical Leadership Design, develop, and maintain Business Central extensions using ALServe as the technical escalation point for complex development challengesProvide mentorship, guidance, and troubleshooting support for junior and mid-level developersPerform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practicesCollaborate with leadership to manage development priorities and release readiness Support and Problem Resolution Diagnose and resolve complex Business Central issues, including:Performance optimizationUpgrade and deployment challengesPosting and transactional errorsData issuesIntegration failuresSupport ongoing client environments and contribute to long-term solution stability Process Improvement and Innovation Continuously improve development methodologies, release processes, and technical standardsEnhance source control, environment management, testing, and deployment practicesEvaluate and implement AI-assisted development tools to increase productivity and code qualityContribute to the evolution of VetaTek's Business Central development practice Requirements 7+ years of Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central development experienceExtensive hands-on experience developing Business Central solutions using ALStrong understanding of Business Central functional areas, including General Ledger and Financial Management, Sales and Customer Management, Purchasing, Inventory, and Supply Chain ManagementExperience leading technical design discussions and gathering solution requirements directly from stakeholdersStrong knowledge of Business Central APIs, web services, and integration patternsSolid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithmic efficiency, application architecture, performance optimization, and secure coding practicesExperience troubleshooting complex production environmentsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiencesExperience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar platforms Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working for a Microsoft Partner or consulting organizationExperience with AL-Go for GitHub and/or Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelinesExperience with Business Central containers and BcContainerHelperAppSource application development experienceMulti-tenant Business Central solution developmentExperience integrating Business Central with Dynamics 365 Sales, Dataverse, Power Platform, and third-party applicationsNAV to Business Central upgrade and migration experienceExperience using Application Insights, telemetry, and SQL performance tuning Benefits Why Join VetaTek? Base salary range: $120,000 - $160,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. 3% employer profit-sharing retirement contribution.
