Senior Business Analyst - Onsite

Responsibilities

• Serve as the liaison between the business community and the development team through which requirements flow
• Conduct interviews and lead requirements gathering sessions with business representatives to elicit business requirements for system development
• Document business, system, functional, and non-functional requirements including usability, reliability, performance, and support
• Maintain requirements in alignment with the Project Management Office (PMO) standards of documentation
• Effectively communicate issues to business customers and other stakeholders
• Apply tools like Jira, Visio, and others to define requirements and documentation
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for assigned projects and processes
• Conduct issue triage and escalation as it relates to requirements and technical issues
• Perform Knowledge Transfer with technical teams including Development, Quality Assurance, and Production Support
• Cook up user acceptance test cases by business partners, as well as the execution of user acceptance testing
• Coordinate with application managers and business product owners on prioritizing requests, coordinating UAT, and providing status to business customers

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst capacity, with at least 3 years of Insurance business experience (claims, underwriting, agency accounting, corporate underwriting, etc)
• Strong experience in P&C insurance Claims systems
• Guidewire Claim Center experience
• Able to work directly with the business to understand business requirements on a project basis
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience with business analysis methodology, process improvement methodology, project and risk management, and industry-related tools
• Aptitude for technology and have extensive insurance experience

Desired Skills

• IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)
