Senior Business Analyst – HR Data & Intelligence

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst HR Data & Intelligence to join a high-impact HR Data Services team. This role will serve as a bridge between HR business functions, product teams, data platforms, analytics, and technology teams, translating complex HR business requirements into clear technical requirements and data solutions. Location: New Brunswick, NJ. Work Arrangement: Hybrid 3 Days Onsite per Week. Job Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into detailed technical and data requirements across HR domains.
• Develop a strong understanding of HR processes, policies, workflows, and business operations.
• Identify data requirements within HR workflows, products, and business decision points.
• Create and maintain Source-to-Target mappings, transformation rules, business rules, and data definitions.
• Translate complex HR business problems into clear requirements supporting analytics, data products, AI/ML, and digital HR solutions.
• Perform System Integration Testing (SIT) to validate employee data from Workday and other HR source systems.
• Validate data pipelines and data movement from source systems into modern data lakehouse environments.
• Verify semantic-layer metrics, KPIs, and business definitions.
• Lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with HR and Talent stakeholders.
• Partner with Product Owners, Engineers, Designers, Data Analysts, and HR stakeholders throughout discovery and delivery.
• Identify and resolve data definition issues and inconsistencies within assigned HR domains.
• Collaborate with Data Platform, Data Quality, Data Governance, Privacy

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have strong experience across HR business processes, HR data, data analysis, data mapping, data governance, and digital/analytics initiatives, with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment.
