About the Role

The Senior Business Analyst plays a leading, cross-functional role in helping establish clear, practical business processes that support efficient execution, consistent outcomes, and effective day-to-day operations. Working closely with department leaders, project teams, and operational staff, the Senior Business Analyst helps teams document and improve workflows, clarify handoffs, and align on practical ways of working that support how the firm operates today and as it grows. A key focus is helping the organization establish clearer ownership of business processes and the information those processes produce. The role also supports business systems implementation projects by defining requirements, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring successful delivery and adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Business Process Definition & Improvement: Work with leadership and staff to understand current workflows and define clear, practical future-state ("to-be") workflows. Facilitate discussions to align on improved ways of working, including standard workflows, key handoffs, and decision points. Identify opportunities to improve consistency, clarity, and efficiency. Create and maintain lightweight, accessible process documentation.
  • Process Ownership & Operational Clarity: Support department leaders in clarifying responsibility for key business processes. Partner with leaders to reinforce ownership and address root causes of unclear practices or inconsistent workflows.
  • Requirements & Systems Implementation Support: Gather and document requirements for business systems projects. Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical resources to ensure shared understanding. Support process design, user validation, UAT coordination, and rollout readiness.
  • Change Management & Adoption: Help teams understand and adopt workflow and system changes. Develop process guides, job aids, and reference materials. Gather user feedback to refine processes and solutions.
  • Improvement Intake & Prioritization: Assist with intake and shaping of process and systems improvement requests. Help stakeholders prioritize efforts based on impact, effort, and organizational readiness.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 6–8+ years of experience in business analysis, business process improvement, or related roles. Experience in professional services or project-based organizations.
  • Business Process and Analysis Skills: Strong ability to document and improve workflows. Experience facilitating working sessions and aligning groups. Comfortable working with evolving information to bring clarity. Experience eliciting and documenting business and user requirements through interviews, workshops, and research. Ability to translate ideas into actionable use cases and solution requirements.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience developing work plans and managing resources against project timelines. Familiarity with Agile methodologies or iterative prototyping cycles. Experience supporting change management during technology adoption. Proficiency in communicating project status to stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across departments. Comfortable working cross-functionally without formal authority.
  • Tools & Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with process mapping and collaboration tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Miro). Familiarity with project or task tracking tools (e.g., Planner, Project, Jira) is a plus.

Work Environment

  • Professional open-office environment with collaborative work areas and shared resources.
  • Physical demands include hand/wrist/finger dexterity for 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and ability to sit for long periods.

Pay

$110,000–160,000

Schedule

Full-time, minimum expectation of 40 hours per week.
