Senior Business Analyst

MARS Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst in Milwaukee, WI for a leading independent asset management firm. This client values a traditional work week and often extends contracts for added job security and stability.

About the role

Join a cross-functional Agile team and help translate complex business needs into technology solutions that drive measurable business results. You will bring deep expertise in a specific business domain while partnering closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Subject Matter Experts. Lead requirements gathering, analyze current and future-state processes, develop user stories and features, support testing, and guide initiatives from discovery through delivery.

Responsibilities

• Business & Domain Expertise
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within one or more business domains and develop a broad understanding of related business areas.
  • Act as a trusted resource for business insights, analysis, and decision-making.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on business needs, data, and industry knowledge.
• Business & Process Analysis
  • Independently assess and document current-state processes across multiple business areas.
  • Define future-state processes and identify gaps, opportunities, and improvement areas.
  • Translate business drivers and objectives into actionable technology solutions.
  • Develop process maps and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Requirements & User Stories
  • Lead requirements-gathering activities for medium to large initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and business domains.
  • Facilitate discussions with business partners, Product Managers, Engineers, Designers, and SMEs to clarify requirements.
  • Author complex user stories, features, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
  • Serve as a key business resource throughout the development lifecycle.
• Testing & Solution Delivery
  • Support and coordinate business test planning and execution for medium and large initiatives.
  • Develop and/or review test plans and test scenarios.
  • Coordinate UAT activities, track issues, and work with delivery teams to resolve defects.
  • Facilitate business validation and obtain appropriate stakeholder sign-off.
• Leadership & Collaboration
  • Work independently while coordinating activities across teams and workstreams.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to other Business Analysts as needed.
  • Use strong project management and organizational skills to drive work forward and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate complex information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of professional Business Analysis experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading requirements gathering and analysis for complex initiatives.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience developing user stories, features, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with current-state, future-state, and gap analysis.
• Experience supporting business testing and UAT.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions based on multiple sources of information.
• Demonstrated ability to become a trusted business and domain resource.
