Senior Business Analyst

About the role

We are looking to add a Sr. Business Analyst (BA) to our team to further enhance our capabilities and sustain delivery excellence to our clients. Our team supports a federal agency where we handle backend system development, operations and maintenance, data management, data transformation, data integration, IT Security Support, and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the product owners (POs) and sustainment manager as a member of a team consisting of developers, network engineers and other SMEs to finalize requirements and maintain product backlog.
• Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria and gain consensus.
• Help team with testing (System, Functional and UAT).
• Contribute to release planning activities to establish release notes and communications for the program.
• Collaborate with the product Team monthly to prioritize the team backlog, set work priorities, identify risk, collaborate with development team members to document progress.
• Work closely with testing team and participate and coordinate various testing activities.
• Create SOPs and technical specifications. Create user and update user manuals.
• Develop training presentations.
• Deliver client presentations, facilitate Joint Application Design sessions, and assist in the completion of required deliverables.
• Translate high level business requirements into user stories and acceptance test criteria using Agile methodology.
• Negotiate deliverables by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT (developers and testers) from initial requirements to final implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Systems, Management Information Systems, IT Management, or other IT degree
• 10-15 years of relevant experience
• Significant capabilities in system development requirements gathering and analysis
• Strong problem solving and design skills
• Strong communication, writing and presentation skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience working with key client stakeholders to define and document business processes including functional and technical system requirements
• Experience with application development methodologies such as Agile including writing user stories/epics and acceptance criteria using Jira or Rally
• The ability to manage multiple simultaneous work streams, including projects and program initiatives, and prioritize, manage, and execute effectively with compressed timelines and ambiguous tasking
• The ability to work independently, take ownership of and complete relatively complex tasks, effectively using available resources, as needed, with minimal guidance
• The ability to successfully obtain and maintain a U.S. Suitability/Public Trust Background Clearance

• Salary Range: The proposed salary range for this role is $125,000 to $135,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
