Analyst$180/hrFull-time

EvolutionIQ’s mission is to deliver state-of-the-art technology that helps insurance claims teams make claims handling more accurate, fair, and efficient, so that more people impacted by injury or illness can continue their lives with dignity and stability. We are experiencing massive growth and seeking world-class talent to help build and scale internally while transforming the insurance space. Our team is our top priority, and we have been named one of Inc.’s Best Workplaces three years in a row and Built In’s Best Places to Work in 2025 and 2026.

About the role

As a Senior Business Analyst on the Data Science & Insights team, you will translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive operational change and measurable client outcomes. You will serve as a primary thought partner for Client Strategy in brainstorming new analytical opportunities, defining KPIs, and developing robust, scalable, and trustworthy reporting to inform business strategy. You will lead technical development across the Data Science & Insights portfolio, from writing SQL queries to developing reusable Python tools to creating Looker dashboards. You will drive the development of scalable client analytics, from automated reporting and self-service QBRs to high-impact ROI storytelling, while acting as a trusted analytical advisor across Product, Client Services, Sales, and Data Science. The quality of your insights will directly influence product direction, client retention, and how the business evaluates and prioritizes opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Scale and automate recurring deliverables while ensuring data is trustworthy. Provide mentorship to junior team members and encourage best practices for using tools like Python, SQL, and dbt.
  • Analytical Ownership: Own delivery of end-to-end analytical project lifecycles. Operate autonomously and drive clarity to define success criteria when initial requirements are ambiguous. Ensure data pipelines are robust and trustworthy, and clearly define project goals and success criteria.
  • Data Storytelling: Create high-impact visualizations and business cases that demonstrate the ROI of AI integration to our B2B clients.
  • Stakeholder Synthesis: Collaborate with clients and executive leadership to translate complex business questions into actionable insights. Probe beyond the initial question to uncover the underlying business problems that need solving.
  • Driving Clarity: Challenge assumptions not just in your own data and analysis, but in those of your stakeholders. Ensure all team members are aligned on approach and vision.

Requirements

  • 7+ years as a Business Analyst, Data Scientist, Consulting, or similar role.
  • Industry experience in Disability Insurance or Tech preferred.
  • Analytical Rigor: Proficiency in Python (Pandas/Polars, script development), SQL, data modeling (e.g., dbt), and data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker) to perform independent "deep dives" into claim performance data.
  • Strategic Communication: Proven ability to explain the "Why" behind an AI recommendation to non-technical users.
  • Domain Expertise: Familiarity with claims management workflows, "duration compression" concepts, and the regulatory landscape of disability insurance is preferred.

Benefits

  • Compensation: Base salary range of $180–200K, with flexibility depending on background and experience. Includes an annual bonus plan and company equity plan (RSUs).
  • Well-Being: Medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, AD&D, and 401k matching. Additional family, wellness, and pet benefits.
  • Home & Family: Paid time off and sick leave, 100% paid parental leave (16 weeks for primary caregivers and 12 weeks for secondary caregivers). Flexible schedule for new parents returning to work.
  • Office Life: Catered lunches, happy hours, pet-friendly spaces, and a monthly technology stipend.
  • Growth & Training: $1,000/year for professional development, plus opportunities for tuition reimbursement.
  • Sponsorship: Open to sponsoring candidates currently in the U.S. who need to transfer their active visa.
