Senior Business Analyst
About the Role
We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst / QA Analyst to serve as a core member of a Scaled Agile team. This role involves translating business needs into clear requirements and user stories, as well as ensuring solutions meet functional and technical expectations through testing. You will engage stakeholders, map and analyze business processes, create user stories and acceptance criteria, develop test plans and test cases, execute testing, document defects, and collaborate closely with engineering, design, and business teams. The position requires ownership, independence in ambiguous situations, proactive problem-solving, and effective communication across technical and non-technical groups. This is a hybrid role combining Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, Agile delivery, and systems/process analysis.

Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, document, and communicate business and system requirements.
- Engage stakeholders to understand business needs and obtain feedback.
- Write user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases.
- Map current and future-state business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create clear, maintainable project and system documentation.
- Develop test plans, test strategies, test cases, and test scripts.
- Execute manual and potentially automated testing.
- Perform functional, non-functional, integration, enhancement, upgrade, and maintenance testing.
- Validate integration between application components and backend services.
- Track, prioritize, document, and communicate defects.
- Use qTest to manage test cases, test execution, and defects.
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile/SAFe activities.
- Take ownership of assigned stories from clarification through completion.
- Proactively identify and escalate blockers and project risks.
- Communicate through Microsoft Teams, Jira, and email.
- Learn departmental business processes, compliance requirements, systems, and workflows.
- Provide reporting and production support when necessary.
- Follow organizational security policies.
- Target delivery of at least 85% of committed story points per iteration while ensuring completed stories meet acceptance criteria.
Qualifications
- Strong stakeholder engagement and requirements-gathering experience.
- Experience mapping and analyzing business processes.
- Ability to write high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Experience developing test plans and test strategies.
- Hands-on test case design and execution experience.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
- Experience with defect/bug tracking tools.
- Familiarity with qTest or a comparable test-management platform.
- Familiarity with Postman for API testing.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering, design, business, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience operating within Agile environments; SAFe experience is particularly relevant.
- Ability to independently navigate vague or incomplete requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, adaptability, and learning agility.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities.
Bonus Qualifications
- API-driven architecture and API requirements.
- Advanced qTest experience.
- Wireframing tools such as Balsamiq.
