Senior Business Analyst (AI – Copilot / Alteryx - Max $75/hr W2)

Hybrid role requiring on-site presence 3-4 times per week in New York.

About the Role

We are seeking a senior-level Consultant - Business Analyst to support data analysis and process improvement initiatives related to financial and regulatory reporting requirements for legal entities. The consultant will focus on deep, data-driven analysis, identifying and documenting financial and regulatory data requirements, performing gap analysis against existing strategic data, and working closely with Finance, Technology, and Regulatory stakeholders to drive remediation and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth analysis of financial and regulatory data requirements applicable to legal entities in New York.
• Assess existing strategic data sources and reporting processes against regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
• Conduct gap analysis to identify data deficiencies, inconsistencies, and process inefficiencies.
• Clearly document data requirements, data gaps, assumptions, and dependencies.
• Partner with Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Technology, and Business stakeholders to:
  • Validate requirements
  • Confirm data availability and quality
  • Align on remediation approaches
  • Assess, improve, and help redesign regulatory control and reporting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Translate operational, accounting, and regulatory needs into actionable data and reporting requirements.
  • Support data-driven process renovation initiatives, including automation and reporting optimization.
  • Socialize findings, data gaps, and recommendations with stakeholders through clear documentation and presentations.
• Work effectively in a high-visibility, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

• 10+ years of Financial Business Analyst experience (this is not a Data Analyst role).
• Experience with data requirements and process improvements.
• Recent experience reconciling data sources and distinguishing between them; ability to articulate data from spreadsheets.
• 6-10 years of experience working independently and autonomously.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with AI (e.g., Copilot).
• Alteryx experience preferred.
• Financial products experience required (e.g., derivatives, assets).

Skills

• Strong expertise in business analysis, data analysis, and process improvement.
• Proven experience performing detailed data requirement analysis and gap analysis for financial and/or regulatory reporting.
• Deep understanding of financial services data, including General Ledger and finance processes.
