Senior Building Mechanical Engineer
About the role
As a Senior Building Mechanical Engineer at Jacobs, you will lead the design and planning of mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities. Your role will involve working on innovative infrastructure projects in the Northwest region, focusing on plumbing, HVAC, odor control, and fire protection systems. You will collaborate with architects and engineers from various disciplines to ensure project success. This position offers the opportunity to mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to significant environmental projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of complete plumbing and HVAC systems for treatment facilities.
- Prepare design drawings and specifications for client submission.
- Conduct field evaluations and develop as-built drawings.
- Manage and coordinate work with architects, technicians, and engineers of other disciplines.
- Support field staff during the construction phase of projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in producing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection designs.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Strong data analysis skills and technical problem-solving ability.
