Senior Bridge Engineer

RS&H is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our team in Tallahassee with a hybrid in-office and remote schedule.

About the role

As part of the infrastructure team, you’ll serve as a team expert and/or project lead. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing project specifications, complete project documents, analysis, and reports
• Analyzing and interpreting data for design, planning, impact studies, cost analyses, design requirements, site selection, and limited design layouts
• Designing complete projects, systems, components, and/or processes
• Performing quality control reviews and ensuring achievement of key milestones
• Conducting field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects
• Providing technical guidance and assigning tasks to junior and support staff
• Managing discipline and small multidisciplinary teams to ensure company and project contractual compliance
• Managing a small team of direct reports

Requirements

• Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and 10 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Professional engineer in good standing
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances
• Proficiency in production software and construction document production
• Proven ability to address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound, professional, and business-like manner
• Experience working on parts of major projects or multiple moderate-size projects, providing technical guidance to junior-level staff, reviewing others’ work for technical accuracy, and participating in the design and implementation of new services, processes, standards, or operational plans
