Senior Bridge Engineer
About the role
The Senior Bridge Engineer at HDR will play a crucial role in designing and managing bridge projects, including bridge design, rehabilitation, inspection, and structures design on both DOT and local agency projects. This position involves leading technical roles on bridge design projects, performing complex structural planning, analysis, and design, and working on a variety of projects from mid-size to large-scale.
Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and deliver projects that include bridge design, bridge rehabilitation, bridge inspection, and structures design on DOT and local agency projects.
- Coordinate the staffing and workload through the entire project development to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Establish client relations and participate in marketing, contractual, and production activities to strengthen future and existing business lines.
- Participate in project reviews with the Business/Accounting Manager, Project Controller, Company Controller, and the Area Manager or Managing Principal.
- Be assigned to serve on larger bridge projects nationally and potentially on mega alternate delivery projects.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, LUSAS, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge
- Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in all aspects of bridge design projects
- Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bentley OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler, and Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, Prestress Concrete Design
- Leadership skills, communication skills, and ability to work with various teams
- Project management skills

Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
This position is full-time and permanent.
