About the role
Arcadis is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to deliver bridge projects for our growing Houston, Texas Bridge Team. Hybrid work available but you must be physically located within driving distance of the office location.
Responsibilities
- Serve as lead engineer for bridges and other structures, including new construction, inspection, repair, and rehabilitation projects. This includes leading, assigning and reviewing work and providing technical guidance to the team.
- Collaborates with colleagues in other offices and different areas of expertise.
- Review technical packages as part of our internal quality program.
- Review technical packages from other consultants as owner’s representative.
- Deliver quality plans, calculations, and specifications on schedule.
- Complete bridge inspections and load ratings with associated reports.
- Aids in preparing proposals for various pursuits.
- Aid in preparation of scope and fee proposals for structures work.
- Represent the firm at professional organizations and conferences.
Qualifications & Experience
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
- 12 or more years’ bridge design experience with at least 3 years of bridge design lead experience on TxDOT projects
- 5 or more years’ TxDOT experience
- Registrations/Certifications required: Texas PEA valid driver’s license.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
- Experience with Design-Build projects
- TxDOT Level 2 Bridge Inspection Certification
Key Attributes
- Experience with AASHTO LRFD
- Experience with TxDOT design criteria and standards
- Familiarity with structural engineering software packages such as: Bentley Open Bridge Designer, MIDAS Civil, AASHTO BrR, Merlin-DASH and MathCAD
- Familiarity with CADD software packages such as: Bentley Open Bridge Modeler, Bentley MicroStation, Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
- Work independently with minimal direction and oversight
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills with the ability to work on multiple unique assignments simultaneously
- Direct and mentor junior level staff inside of the project team
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively convey information to technical and non-technical individuals

Pay
The salary range for this position is $112,000 - $140,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
