About the role

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Senior Bridge Design Engineer V for employment in Phoenix, Arizona. This role will provide the opportunity to directly support transformational projects including the I-25 and I-15 DB projects. Design has begun and will extend over the coming years, providing a unique opportunity for multiple career-defining roles on the project.

Responsibilities

  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team.
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by other.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepares technical specification sections.
  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS + 8 (eight) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Active PE license.
  • Ability to pass MVR check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering degree.
  • 8 + years of bridge design and plan development experience Project experience in Arizona related to AzDOT and/or local bridge design project work.
  • Proficiency in software such as MicroStation, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, MathCAD, and MDX Knowledge of 3D finite element software such as CSiBridge, MIDAS, SAP2000, etc. is a plus.
  • Experience in the plan production of transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
  • Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software).
  • Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable codes.
  • Ability to do occasional field work (site visits and inspections) and travel.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $135,000 to $195,000 per year.
