We are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper/Accountant for our Business Process Outsourcing Department in our Houston, TX office. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to work within deadlines, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure a high level of professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation to clients, their parent companies, and related entities on accounting, business administration, and taxation needs
  • Take ownership of assigned client engagements, anticipating issues and developing plans to complete engagements within budget
  • Prepare financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual)
  • Prepare various sales and use tax returns, personal property tax returns, and other required forms
  • Process payroll
  • Ensure timely completion and communication of project status internally
  • Research technical issues and discuss with Manager/Partner for further guidance
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or higher, or equivalent (e.g., German Steuerfachangestellte(r))
  • 3-4+ years of relevant accounting experience, including preparing financial statements and client communication
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and independently within an established framework
  • High-level client-service orientation with ability to handle sensitive, confidential information discreetly
  • Strong understanding of client needs and ability to manage/reschedule priorities effectively
  • Superior organizational skills with ability to develop and follow through on processes

Skills

  • Experience using QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online (desired)
  • Experience with Microsoft D365 and SAP (a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of US-GAAP and HGB (a plus)
  • Basic knowledge of the US tax system
  • Team player with willingness to contribute to a motivated, professional team
  • German language skills (a plus but not required)
