Responsibilities
- Manage assigned employee benefit programs including health and welfare plans, voluntary benefits, and retirement plans in alignment with plan parameters, enrollment, and regulatory requirements
- Provide tier two benefits resolution and support for employees
- Serve as liaison between third-party benefit vendors and employees by advising on eligibility, coverage, and benefits matters and resolving escalated issues or enrollment corrections
- Audit and analyze employee benefit changes in payroll systems and with third-party vendors
- Identify and recommend enhancements to benefits websites, content, and third-party benefit links
- Assist with coordination, facilitation, and communication of open enrollment activities
- Compile and maintain benefits records including required documentation and state or court forms
- Train and mentor benefits specialists and delegate tasks as appropriate
Qualifications
- Education Requirements: Associate degree (or equivalent experience)
- Experience Requirements: 3–5 years experience in relevant field
- Travel requirement: No travel requirements
- Supervisor Responsibility: Direct Reports - This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reports; Indirect Reports - Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports
- Required Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of employee benefits regulations and compliance requirements, Advanced understanding of benefit plan administration and trends, Knowledge of health and welfare and retirement benefit programs, Strong interpersonal and communication skills, Analytical and problem-solving capabilities, Proficiency with office productivity tools including spreadsheets, word processing, and presentations, Experience with human resources information systems
- Environmental & Physical Requirements: Office / Sedentary Requirements - Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
