About the role
As an Electrical Engineer at Re:Build, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of advanced lithium-ion battery systems. You will be responsible for defining system architecture, creating electrical schematics, selecting and integrating electronics hardware, and performing critical thermal and power dissipation analyses. Your expertise will directly influence key technical decisions that enable Re:Build to deliver safe, high-performance battery modules and packs across automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, and industrial applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop Electrical System Architecture: Define and document high- and low-voltage distribution, interfaces, and protection systems for battery packs.
- Create Electrical Schematics: Own the schematic design of battery pack systems, including sensors, contactors, fuses, connectors, harnesses, and control electronics.
- Select and Integrate Electronics Hardware: Evaluate and specify components such as current sensors, power electronics, microcontrollers, and supporting hardware for safety, performance, and manufacturability.
- Perform Thermal & Power Dissipation Analysis: Conduct hardware heating and power dissipation calculations to ensure reliable operation across environmental and load conditions.
- Support Circuit Design & Validation: Contribute to the design, simulation, and bench testing of circuits for measurement, control, and protection.
- Ensure Safety & Compliance: Support DFMEA, functional safety (ISO 26262 or equivalent), and industry compliance requirements, including UL.
- Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with mechanical, software, program management, and manufacturing teams to integrate electrical design into robust and manufacturable products.
- Test & Debug: Develop validation test plans, analyze data, and troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Communicate Results: Prepare and present technical findings and recommendations to customers, suppliers, and internal leadership.
Requirements
