Position Summary
The Senior BAS Automation Programmer is responsible for programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting Building Automation Systems with a focus on energy efficiency, functionality, and client satisfaction. This role plays a critical part in ensuring systems operate as designed and that end-users are trained for ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and troubleshoot BAS control system programs.
- Create and implement control sequences per design documents and specifications.
- Redline control drawings for accurate as-built documentation.
- Create dynamic BAS system graphics and animations for intuitive user navigation.
- Configure and commission networked controllers and supervisory devices.
- Perform functional tests, assist with test and balance (TAB), and troubleshoot system issues.
- Set up trends, alarms, and custom user interface dashboards.
- Configure IP communications and network integration.
- Provide professional end-user training and post-installation support.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, engineering/design teams, and sales.
- Represent Enviromatic Systems with a focus on high-quality service and client satisfaction.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong service-driven attitude with a commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP plans and technical documents.
- Proficiency in BAS platforms (e.g., Tridium, Honeywell, Distech, Siemens, Johnson Controls, etc.).
- Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) and graphics software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical and mathematical aptitude for troubleshooting and data interpretation.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with BAS programming and commissioning.
- NICET certification, LEED credentials, or industry-specific certifications are a plus.
