About the Role

Our client, a well-established law firm, is seeking a Senior Bankruptcy Associate Attorney with 10-20+ years of experience to join its Dallas office. This role involves handling complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters, advising a diverse client base, and taking ownership of cases from start to finish. The ideal candidate is highly experienced, independent, and comfortable managing sophisticated legal matters with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Handle complex Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters.
  • Represent debtors, creditors, lenders, and other stakeholders in bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Draft and review motions, pleadings, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  • Appear in court for hearings, mediations, and negotiations.
  • Provide strategic counsel on bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency issues.
  • Manage cases independently from intake through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with federal bankruptcy laws.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on related litigation and transactional matters.
  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. bankruptcy laws, procedures, and court systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

  • 10+ years of bankruptcy law experience required.
  • Extensive experience handling complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters.
  • Background in a law firm environment preferred.
  • Experience working with creditors, lenders, or corporate clients is a plus.

  • Excellent legal writing, drafting, and research skills.
  • Strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills.
  • High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound legal decisions.
  • Strong communication and client management abilities.
