Senior Backup and Recovery Engineer

About the role

This role will lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a Technical Services environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise backup and recovery solutions for VMware SDDC
• Implement Rubrik Security Cloud -Private data protection solutions for mission-critical services
• Develop data protection strategies for various enterprise services including IaaS and SMC
• Collaborate with teams across infrastructure, storage, and cybersecurity to integrate backup capabilities
• Develop automation for backup provisioning and configuration management using IaC methodologies
• Design and validate disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for critical platforms
• Mentor customer engineers on best practices for backup, recovery, and cyber resilience

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline with 8–12 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6–10 years of relevant experience
• Active NATO Secret clearance (or higher)
• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise backup and recovery solutions with Automation and APIs
• Working knowledge of Rubrik Security Cloud -Private backup solutions and their management
• Experience designing backup and recovery solutions for VMware-based private cloud environments
• Strong understanding of disaster recovery, cyber resilience, and business continuity principles
• Experience with automation using scripting, APIs, or tools like Python, Ansible, and Terraform

Pay

$107,900 – $195,050 annually
