About the Opportunity:The SENIOR BACKEND ENGINEER role centers on developing the integration layer that facilitates secure and consistent access to data from the core banking system. The position involves designing and building backend services primarily in Go, ensuring data extraction, modeling, and access patterns enable other teams to safely consume core banking data. This role contributes by maintaining data integrity and abstraction, preventing ripple effects from core changes, and supporting downstream data products, thus playing a critical part in the organization's data infrastructure. Responsibilities:Design and build Go services to transform core banking data into a consistent model for downstream applicationsCollaborate with Profile engineers and data engineers to define clean extraction points from the core systemBuild and maintain access layers such as APIs and event streams to enable integration without direct core interactionEnforce data integrity, access boundaries, and schema versioningIntegrate with existing APIs maintained by other teams, extending and consuming but not originating product-facing endpointsHelp determine delivery methods for new data products (batch, event-driven, real-time) based on freshness needsWork with data engineers to support downstream data product visibility and queryability Requirements:Minimum of 5 years backend engineering experience, primarily using GoExperience building integration or abstraction layers between legacy systems and modern applicationsFamiliarity with transactional systems and paymentsExperience with event-driven architectures such as Kafka and CDC pipelinesExposure to legacy core banking systems is beneficial but not requiredExperience provisioning cloud services in AWS or similar providersBachelor’s degree or equivalent specialized training and work experience Pay Range and Compensation Package:Compensation generally ranges between 140,000 and 170,000 USD base salary, with up to a 20% annual bonus, depending on location Benefits & Perks:Flexible work arrangementsProfessional development opportunitiesCompetitive compensation Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
