About the role

You will join the Core Discovery team to build and scale the backend systems powering maps, location services, and directory search. This high-ownership role involves designing scalable architectures in Node.js and TypeScript. You'll drive the product from architecture to production, ensuring members discover meaningful connections through innovative geospatial and search solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead key components of Core Discovery services, specifically focusing on geospatial data indexing, proximity queries, and mapping surfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX designers and data scientists, to ensure solutions are comprehensive and user-focused.
• Own the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), implementing agile methodologies and CI/CD practices while ensuring high system scalability.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software development experience with a track record of delivering scalable and maintainable backend systems in fast-moving environments.
• Deep production expertise in geospatial data and mapping systems, along with mastery in Node.js, TypeScript, and system architecture.
• Strong fundamentals in PostgreSQL and MongoDB, with a mindset for adopting new AI tools and search technologies like Elasticsearch.
