About the role
The role focuses on building the next generation of analytics instrumentation infrastructure that enables data-driven product decisions at scale. You will design and evolve backend platforms that collect, process, and deliver high-quality product usage data across complex environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and evolution of a unified data collection platform using Golang and modern cloud-native technologies, ensuring reliability, scalability, and broad adoption across engineering teams.
- Build and maintain backend systems that improve the collection, transmission, and quality of product usage and billing data across SaaS and self-managed environments.
- Drive technical decisions that balance platform usability, system performance, observability, data integrity, and long-term maintainability.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, analytics, and data teams to deliver shared solutions that support evidence-based decision-making.
- Provide technical guidance during operational incidents, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and service reliability improvements.
- Mentor other engineers through thoughtful code reviews, design discussions, documentation, and knowledge sharing to strengthen engineering practices and collaboration.
Requirements
- Significant professional experience building and operating backend, platform, or infrastructure systems in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Golang, with hands-on experience designing and maintaining production-grade services.
- Proven ability to develop scalable, reliable backend solutions that serve internal and external users.
- Experience making architectural decisions involving reliability, performance, observability, data quality, and system trade-offs.
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies, distributed systems, and open-source development practices.
- Experience collaborating effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders, including product, engineering, and data organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to clear technical direction through documentation and collaboration.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a remote, highly collaborative environment.
