Senior Back End Software Engineer (Integrations)

Location: Remote (US). Must be available from 9:00 AM ET. The Care Management AI engineering team builds AI-powered products that reduce administrative work for nurses so they can spend more time delivering personalized care. In 2026 alone, the team's portfolio delivered more than $80M in value, and the team has grown from 5 to 19 engineers in about a year to support an ambitious 2027 roadmap. Job Summary We're looking for a senior back-end engineer focused on integrations and APIs. You'll build and own the connections between the team's products and partner applications running on Spring Boot microservices. You'll work directly with the business to shape requirements and own the design of what you build. There's no front-end work planned for the first six months of this role. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain APIs and integrations with partner applicationsWork closely with partner teams who use Spring Boot microservicesWrite scripts and queries in MongoDB and BigQueryDevelop back-end services in Java and Python, and write efficient SQLGather requirements directly from business stakeholders and own the solution designUse AI-assisted and agentic coding tools as a core part of your daily development workCommunicate technical decisions and tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical partners Requirements 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a back-end and integration focusStrong experience with Java, Python, and SQLProven experience designing and building APIs and system integrationsA track record of owning solution design end to endExcellent stakeholder communication skills and strong business senseComfort with, and enthusiasm for, AI-assisted development tools Preferred Qualifications MongoDB experienceSpring Boot microservices experienceGCP experience, especially BigQuery (AWS or Azure experience also translates well)Front-end experience (React or JavaScript), a nice-to-have for later, not needed at the startHealthcare industry experience Benefits Fully remoteLong-term engagement, with work planned well into 2027High-visibility work on a fast-growing, mission-driven teamOpportunity to use cutting-edge AI development tools
