Senior Back End Developer

Responsibilities

• Take a leading role in architecture and design discussions to develop software that is testable, scalable, and performant.
• Build backend services in Python using frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, and Flask.
• Develop RESTful services using Django REST Framework and other appropriate technologies.
• Establish engineering standards, conduct thorough code reviews, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Participate in and help lead daily stand-ups and Agile ceremonies, including backlog grooming and sprint planning.
• Work closely with stakeholders and product owners to validate requirements for future projects and initiatives.

Requirements

• Expert proficiency in object-oriented programming, particularly Python.
• Extensive experience designing and building service-oriented architectures.
• Experience developing production systems using Django, FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks.
• Experience building RESTful services using Django REST Framework or comparable technologies.
• Advanced experience with cloud computing services and concepts, particularly AWS.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.
• Experience working with and providing leadership within an Agile development team.
• Practical understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Expert proficiency with source-control tools such as Git.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and deductive reasoning abilities.
• Experience supporting high-traffic web applications.
• Experience with continuous integration tools.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
• Seven or more years of professional software engineering experience.
