Senior Azure System Administrator, Human Performance and Robotics
IHMC is seeking a Senior Azure Systems Administrator for a full-time role in Pensacola, FL. The successful candidate will interface regularly with internal and external team members, Network Administrators, and Technical Services leadership, focusing on monitoring and supporting internal and client-facing systems in Azure and other cloud-based technologies.
Responsibilities
- Enhance current Azure cloud environments
- Monitor and enhance the security of current and future Azure environments
- Evaluate and automate scaling and capacity requirements within Azure environments
- Ensure federated access across Active Directory and Azure AD
- Troubleshoot and resolve Azure environment performance, connectivity, and security issues
- Implement new environments in the Azure cloud
- Integrate Azure infrastructure components into team processes and procedures
- Perform standard Enterprise Data Center support of Servers and Active Directory
- Additional duties as assigned
- Work night and weekend hours on occasion as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or 7+ years of equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience supporting applications and functions in the Azure Cloud
- Certification(s) related to cloud environments preferred (e.g., MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, CCNA Cloud)
- Must work well within a team of developers and research analysts
- Strong speaking and writing skills, with the ability to express complex ideas clearly
- Self-motivated, able to solve challenges with minimal assistance
- Proactively contribute to team goals
- Authorized to work in the United States
Skills
- Strong experience implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions (Compute, Storage, Network, Security)
- Knowledge of Backup, Restore, Recovery, and high availability strategies for Azure environments
- Strong understanding of IaaS and PaaS services
- Windows Server and SQL database creation, configuration, upgrade, migration, and patching
- Experience troubleshooting Azure performance, connectivity, and security issues
- Experience with R and Python ecosystems
- Ability to troubleshoot Azure server and SQL database resource issues (CPU, memory, I/O, disk space)
- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, and adherence to standards/procedures
- Advanced knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, and Windows Authentication
- Knowledge of network protocols (DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP)
- Knowledge of Network and TCP/IP routing/subnetting
- Familiarity with Cisco network equipment/IOS (routing, switching, firewalls) a plus
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Experience with VPN connectivity and client troubleshooting
- Excellent PowerShell skills
- Experience with Azure AD and Active Directory, including managing/maintaining GPOs
