Senior Azure Cloud Engineer/Architect

About the role

You’ve seen enough cloud migrations to know which ones go sideways and why. We need a senior engineer who can sit at the table with platform leadership, shape the architecture for a multi-region Azure environment, and still be willing to crack open a Terraform module to fix something the right way. This is hands-on architecture, not slideware.

What you’ll do

• Architect and lead delivery of Azure infrastructure for high-availability, regulated workloads
• Set IaC standards (Terraform modules, pipelines, code review patterns) across multiple application teams
• Drive cloud security and governance work in partnership with the InfoSec org
• Own multi-region failover, DR, and resilience patterns for critical applications
• Mentor mid-level cloud engineers and raise the bar across the team
• Translate business and compliance requirements into clean, defensible architecture decisions

What we’re looking for

• 7+ years in cloud infrastructure roles, with 4+ years specifically in Azure
• Deep Terraform expertise, including module design, remote state strategy, and pipeline integration
• Strong handle on Azure networking (hub-and-spoke, ExpressRoute, private link)
• Production experience with identity (Entra ID), key management, and secrets
• Track record of leading cross-team architecture conversations
• Comfortable in a regulated environment with formal change control
• Bonus points: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) certification, experience working in a banking, FSI, or other Tier 1 regulated environment, background spanning both on-prem and cloud (hybrid migration scars are a plus), exposure to FinOps practices and cloud cost governance
