Senior AWS Devops Engineer
About the role
CGI is seeking a Senior AWS Devops Engineer to support a critical cloud modernization and application migration initiative within a large-scale financial services environment. This role will focus primarily on designing, implementing, validating, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines while supporting the migration of legacy workloads to a target-state AWS architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, validate, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines
- Support the migration of legacy workloads to a target-state AWS architecture
- Work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to accelerate a time-sensitive decommissioning project
- Help design scalable deployment processes, automate infrastructure, support cloud-native applications, and resolve complex technical issues throughout the software development lifecycle
- Drive project deliverables with minimal oversight
Requirements
- 8+ years of overall IT and software development experience
- Prior experience in cloud-based development and CI/CD implementation projects preferred
- Advanced knowledge of AWS cloud services, including services such as: Lambda ECS Fargate EMR SNS SQS AWS Batch EventBridge CloudWatch
- Solid understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues across development, testing, and deployment environments
- Proficiency with source control, branching strategies, and release management processes
- Experience supporting large-scale application decommissioning or migration programs
Qualifications
- Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Terraform
- Advanced knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and cloud automation
- Strong software development background with experience supporting enterprise-scale applications
- Experience with Python development and scripting
- Experience collaborating directly with business stakeholders and cross-functional technical teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex initiatives
- Familiarity with cloud migration or legacy application modernization projects
Desired Skills
- SAS or SAS Grid experience
- Jupyter Notebook and/or AWS SageMaker experience
- Financial Services industry experience
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $95,800.00 - $154,300.00.
