About the role
Vanguard is seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Platform Engineer to support the GIFS Cloud Engineering organization. This role is not a traditional software development position and will instead focus on cloud engineering, platform enablement, automation, architecture support, and troubleshooting across multiple engineering teams. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of AWS cloud infrastructure knowledge, architecture experience, Python development skills, and strong communication abilities. This individual will help teams operate more effectively within AWS while promoting cloud best practices, automation, operational excellence, security, and resiliency.
Responsibilities
- Supporting AWS environments across multiple regions and accounts
- Developing Python-based automation
- Assisting with cloud onboarding activities
- Supporting cloud modernization initiatives
- Troubleshooting complex issues
- Partnering with engineering teams throughout the organization
Qualifications
- AWS cloud infrastructure knowledge
- Architecture experience
- Python development skills
- Strong communication abilities
