About the role
JANUS Research Group is seeking a Senior Aviation Military Analyst with expertise in Electromagnetic Warfare (EW), Cyber, and Army Aviation Survivability Equipment (ASE) to support Army Aviation capability development, modernization, and operational analysis efforts.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior subject matter expert on Army Aviation electromagnetic warfare (EW), cyber operations, and Aviation Survivability Equipment (ASE).
- Analyze electromagnetic and cyber threats affecting Army Aviation platforms and recommend mitigation strategies to improve operational effectiveness and survivability.
- Provide technical expertise on the integration, employment, and protection of Army Aviation aircraft equipped with ASE and electronic warfare systems.
- Support capability development, modernization initiatives, and operational assessments related to EW and cyber protection.
- Develop operational concepts, requirements documents, white papers, concept papers, operational views, and technical analyses supporting Army Aviation programs.
- Conduct aviation studies, operational assessments, technology evaluations, and operational test activities.
- Lead and facilitate Working Groups, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and collaborative planning sessions.
- Support capability management and combat development initiatives through operational analysis and technical recommendations.
- Evaluate emerging electromagnetic warfare and cyber technologies for integration into Army Aviation systems.
- Prepare and present executive-level briefings to senior military and government leadership.
- Independently produce high-quality technical products requiring minimal government revisions.
- Review and edit analytical products to ensure graduate-level quality prior to government delivery.
Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of combat operations experience as either: Rated Army Aviator, or Army Electronic Warfare (EW) Warrant Officer.
- Extensive experience training and implementing electromagnetic and cyber protection measures for Army Aviation aircraft equipped with Aviation Survivability Equipment (ASE).
- Demonstrated expertise in analyzing electromagnetic and cyber threats affecting Army Aviation platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of Army Aviation survivability systems, electronic warfare, cyber protection, and threat mitigation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting capability management, combat developments, force modernization, or requirements development initiatives.
- Experience planning, coordinating, executing, and facilitating Working Groups and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
- Experience leading aviation studies, operational assessments, or operational test events involving capability development and technology evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to independently develop graduate-level technical products, including: White papers, Concept papers, Requirements documents, Operational views, Technical analyses.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience briefing senior military and government leadership.
- Ability to review and edit technical products to ensure high-quality deliverables requiring only minor government revisions.
- Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- Ability to obtain JWICS access within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience serving as one or more of the following: Tactical Operations Officer (TACOPS), Special Electronic Mission Aircraft (SEMA) Officer, Electronic Warfare Officer.
- Experience authoring a Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) approved Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) document.
- Participation as a direct team member in an Army Aviation Capability-Based Assessment (CBA) supporting: ISR fixed-wing aircraft, Electromagnetic warfare systems, Threat EW capabilities.
- Experience supporting Army Aviation modernization, electronic warfare integration, or cyber capability development.
- Knowledge of Army Aviation survivability systems, electronic attack, electronic protection, and electronic support operations.
